The Secondary Principal provides spiritual, instructional, and operational leadership for grades 6–12. The principal fosters a Christ-centered learning community that promotes academic excellence, spiritual formation, student well-being, and professional growth among faculty and staff.
A master's degree in educational leadership or a related field and prior leadership experience are preferred. A bachelor's degree in secondary education or a related field is required.
Candidates must demonstrate a vibrant Christian faith, active involvement in a local church, and a commitment to integrating biblical principles throughout all aspects of school leadership.

SUPERVISES: Secondary faculty, secondary office personnel, and volunteers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Spiritual Leadership
The Secondary Principal shall:
- Foster a Christ-centered culture that supports spiritual growth among students and staff.
- Support the integration of biblical worldview principles throughout the curriculum and school experience.
- Provide spiritual encouragement, mentoring, and guidance to faculty and students as appropriate.
- Participate in and support chapels, devotions, discipleship opportunities, and spiritual life initiatives.
- Instructional Leadership
- Lead the development and implementation of a high-quality academic program for grades 6–12.
- Supervise, coach, mentor, and evaluate faculty to promote instructional excellence and professional growth.
- Support effective teaching practices through classroom observations, feedback, professional development, and collaborative learning.
- Monitor student achievement and use data to identify trends, celebrate success, and address areas of concern.
- Oversee curriculum implementation, review, and improvement.
- Promote innovation, critical thinking, and student engagement in the learning process.
Student Leadership and School Culture
- Cultivate a positive, respectful, and Christ-centered school culture.
- Oversee student conduct and discipline using restorative, redemptive, and growth-oriented practices consistent with school values.
- Monitor student academic progress, attendance, and well-being.
- Collaborate with counselors, teachers, and parents to support student success.
- Supervise student leadership organizations and encourage meaningful student involvement in school life.
Faculty and Staff Leadership
- Recruit, interview, recommend, and onboard faculty and staff.
- Facilitate faculty meetings, professional development, and collaborative planning opportunities.
- Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, trust, and continuous improvement.
- Assist in succession planning and leadership development among faculty.
- Parent and Community Engagement
- Develop strong partnerships with parents through effective communication and collaboration.
- Address concerns and conflicts in a timely, professional, and biblical manner.
- Represent the secondary school positively within the broader school community.
Operations and Program Management
- Oversee daily operations of the secondary school.
- Coordinate major academic and student programs, including graduation, awards ceremonies, mission trips, and other significant events.
- Collaborate with the Head of School Education regarding staffing, scheduling, enrollment, and program development.
- Work with the Technology Director to support instructional technology and innovation.
- Assist with budget planning and responsible stewardship of resources.
- Report facility, maintenance, safety, and security needs.
- Work with the Athletic Director to ensure student athletes are in compliance with the designated interscholastic athletic association.
Strategic Leadership
- Contribute to school-wide strategic planning and continuous improvement efforts.
- Support accreditation initiatives and ensure compliance with applicable standards and policies.
- Analyze school data and stakeholder feedback to strengthen programs and student outcomes.
- Stay current with educational research, best practices, and trends in Christian education.
Professional Responsibilities
- Attend and participate in meetings, professional development opportunities, conferences, and school events as requested.
- Serve on committees and leadership teams as assigned.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Head of School Education.
