“At Shalom Christian Academy our student-athletes core values center on athletic performance, academic achievement, and spiritual growth. Our Lady Flames soccer program embodies these values and goals in how we approach each season. Our Lady Flames have a reputation for always playing smart and determined soccer, playing to the best of everyone’s individual abilities, and ultimately striving to place the team in the best possible position in every contest. Regardless of the outcome of our games, we play first and foremost for the glory of our Heavenly Father.
Our student-athletes understand that it is a blessing and a privilege to participate as a member of the Lady Flames soccer club. Athletics are a key component for the growth and development of our student athletics and many life lessons are learned on a soccer field. RECAP: The Lady Flames traveled to Cumberland tonight and played a hard-fought game against the Lady Eagles of Calvary. Offensively Chloe Martin got Shalom on the board at minute 32 with a 20-yard shot that sailed just over the keepers reach. 6 minutes into the second half Addison Adams scored on a shot from within the 6-yard box, which was assisted by a nice cross by Adria Rheam. Finally, at minute 74, Addison scored her second goal of the contest which was taken just a few feet from the goal line, as she managed to fire a shot over the keepers hands, which hit the top of the cross bar and ricocheted into the back of the net. Defensively tonight, Shalom was a little out of sink in the first half but really stepped things up in the second half with improved pressure and team communication. Jaicee Keller, center mid and a host of ladies in the holding mid positions, Maya, Kaitlyn and Julianna, worked very hard tonight at closing down Calvary's attacks. Ana Pinieski was solid in the net tonight with an 11 save performance.

Recap: In what has become somewhat of an annual event in recent years, the Lady Flames hosted the Mont Alto Lady Lions in a friendly competition tonight. In the past few years, the Mont Alto Ladies have had a couple Shalom graduates playing for them, and this season is no exception (again), as Maddie Eberly, a 2022 Shalom graduate played for Mont Alto in tonight's contest. Offensive highlights for Shalom included freshman Kacey Wise sending a rocket of a shot about 15 yards out into the near corner of the net for a score at minute 25. About 10 minutes later, Chloe Martin sent a strong shot into the 6 yard box in which Addison Adams was well positioned and able to get a touch on the pass and deflect it into the net for Shalom's second goal tonight. Mont Alto battled back in the second half with 2 goals as well. Shalom had a couple excellent scoring opportunities in the second half but were unable to get that elusive 3rd goal tonight. Defensively for Shalom tonight, the ladies performed very well overall, despite the second half scores. Center backs Emily Rebok and Samie West played fearlessly tonight! Overall, a lot of positives to take away from tonight's friendly match with Mont Alto. The Lady Flames will now gear up for 2 away games next week.

Recap:
The Lady Flames played a physical opponent tonight hosting the Perry Hall Lady Panthers. The weather conditions also added to the difficulty as we played in very strong winds and heavy rains.
Offensively, the Flames attacks were unable to connect with any scores in the first half and we found ourselves in a scoreless match at half time. The Ladies connected on a goal by Chloe Martin 5 minutes into the second half. Eight minutes later, Addison Adams scored a second goal for Shalom. At minute 64, Chloe Martin lined up to take a direct kick about 30 yards out, and she sent a gorgeous shot right over the keepers reach, sailing into the back of the net. Defensively the entire back line played very well again tonight, limiting the Panthers scoring threats. Keeper Ana Pinieski continues to do a terrific job while also providing a vocal presence.
Lady Flames are 5-0-0 after tonight's contest.

Recap:
Shalom hosted Cumberland Valley tonight for their first league game of the season. Overall, the Ladies Flames played well; however, what really stands out the most was our half time talk in which the ladies very much took to heart. Overall, our play and communication definitely improved in the second half. The Ladies did not allow a single second half shot on goal in fact. Our entire defensive back line worked very hard tonight. Offensively, the Ladies continue to work tenaciously this season with smart passing and good ball control.

Shalom earned a non league win tonight against the Lady Patriots. Sophomore Addison Adams had an impressive 5 goals during Shalom's home opener, while Chloe Martin, Adria Rheam and Kacey Wise added a goal each. Chloe Martin also contributed with 4 assists and Jaicee Keller added an assist as well. Jaicee was a workhorse in the center mid position tonight. Our opener also provided an opportunity for many younger players to get on the pitch and perform in front of the home crowd, which was great to witness. Junior keeper Ana Pinieski was a vocal presence and she performed very in the net tonight. Finally, Shalom's back line did a very nice job of being vocal and limiting Carroll's attacks for a combined shutout tonight.
