The team played a solid game tonight. Faith has some good players who control the ball well but Shalom was able to put a lot of pressure on the goalie and put two in the back of the net. Matt made a nice pass that Trey was able to turn and put in for the first goal. Corban scored the second goal on a pass from Trey by crashing the goal and tipping it past the keeper.

This was a tough game. Team played really well throughout the game. We had a few opportunities to score that we just didn’t capitalize on. It’s never easy to lose a game when the other team scores the winning goal in the last 90 seconds. But overall the team played a solid game. We will correct a few things and come back ready to improve next game.

Win9-1
The team played a solid game and made some great passes to move the ball around.
Corban, Trey and Eli led the way with two goals each and Jaxen, Zane and Drew also found the back of the net. 6 of the 9 goals were assisted on with Jake and Trey each recording 2 assists and Levi and Eli also setting up teammates to score.

Win2-0
This was a fun day with the school celebrating homecoming. Our team kept possession of the ball for most of the game with several players playing different positions than they are used to. The team played well, but could have capitalized on a few more opportunities. Corban added the first goal of a header on a corner kick from Trey, and Trey added the second goal on an outside shot that snuck by the goalie.
Drew played this game with a lot of hustle and a lot of speed and Bryant filled in well for us on the defensive side of the ball.
Noah made his debut in the goal for us this season in the second half and made some impressive stops as Fannett metal was pressing late in the game.

We played one of our better games tonight. Each player on the field hustled and played hard. We are improving our passes and working to move the ball around better and better each game.
Jake played an incredible game in the goal while Waylon scored our first goal off of a put back after a penalty kick and Eli added our second goal off of a cross from Corban.
Our defense and mid field continue to improve each game. It’s been a joy to see how this team has improved as they work through the season and grow as players and as young men.

Tie2-2
The team played one of their better games tonight we missed out on a few opportunities, but overall were able to play solid on the defensive side of the ball and move the ball around are offenses players with some crisp passes. Levi was able to put the ball in early in the game and Trey added the second goal. The midfield played a solid game and hustled for the entirety of the day. They were able to support the defense while also adding extra attackers on the Office event. While it’s a little disappointing to come home with a tie, I was really proud of the effort our guys put forth.

Win4-0
In the first half, we played without a sense of urgency, and while we were leading 1-0 at half time, it didn’t seem like we had played to our full potential yet. Our team came out more aggressive and more disciplined in the second half. We were able to put in three more goals with several other opportunities. Trey lead the way with our first two goals and then Isaac and Matt each added one as well. Levi and Matt each performed well on the outside while Zane continues to improve in the middle of the field. Our defense played a solid game keeping the ball in front of them. Jacob and Braxton have played well in their new roles on the defensive side. Jake continues to do well in the goal and Jack played goalie for the first time in the second half, and seemed pretty comfortable talking to the defense and protecting the goal.
vs.
McConnellsburg
Tie1 - 1
In many ways, our middle school team dominated this game at times however, we struggled to put the ball in the back of the net. The team worked well together, as the defense has worked hard to keep the ball on our offense of half of the field as much as possible. McConnellsburg did a good job at packing in and around the goal and not letting us get open shots at the target.
The team held their own on the field for much of the game, but unfortunately gave up a penalty shot with about 12 minutes left to even the score.

Broadfording Christian
Win3-0
The team tested a new formation and the players performed well. Our defense supported and backed each other up and played a phenomenal shut out game against a solid Broadfording team. Trey, Corban and Braxton added goals tonight, the offense was put in a position to succeed as our defense and mid field worked to keep the ball up the field.
vs.
Heritage Academy
Tie0-0
“Heritage Academy came out on their home field and played a very competitive game against our team. We were missing a few key players in this game but showed a lot of hustle and versatility as several players played different positions than they were used to.
Braxton did an excellent job playing on the back row. He had several key stops and was able to contain and prevent scoring chances on multiple occasions. Jake and Waylon combined for the shutout as they split time in goal.
On the offensive side, we picked up the pace in the second half and had multiple scoring chances but were unable to find the back of the goal. Credit given to Heritage for playing very tough defense in the middle of the field and in front of their goal.”

Loss1-4
Shalom’s middle school boys lost a tough game tonight. CVCS capitalized on 3 headers and a penalty shot to leave with a victory.
Shalom won the possession battle, but was unable to get off clean shots against a very aggressive CVCS defense. Braxton played aggressively in the middle and Eli played well on the outside tonight, but as a team we just weren’t able to finish tonight. We will learn and make a few adjustments and look to continue improving throughout the season.

Win4-1
The middle school boys were able to pull out a hard fought victory. New life’s team put up a great fight and their goalie played a phenomenal game, but ultimately our team was able to pull out a victory. Shalom’s defense did a good job at keeping the ball in front of them and Jake played another solid game in the goal. Waylon showed a lot of resolve and played hard all game putting in our first goal and came close multiple other times. Levi, Corban and Matt each added goals as well.
Trey, Isaac, Jaxen and Zane continue to control the middle of the field well in the midfield and center defense, and Noah and Xander performed well on the outside stepping in front of New Life’s offensive attack.

Win3-0
Our team probably played the best game we have all season. Every player played hard when they were on the field and worked really well as a team. We had different players playing in positions they’re not used to, but every one of them stepped up and played with a level of intensity that helped the team. We were up 3-0 before the game was called early due to lightning. Trey put in the first goal, and then Corban added the second and third goals. I’m really proud of the teams effort. Xander and Bentley both stepped into new positions and played really well. Our mid field made some great passes and controlled the game with aggressive defense as well. Jake and Waylon both protected the goal well for us and provided stability at the keeper position.

Faith Christian
Win4-0
After a tough loss the previous night Shalom’s middle school boys soccer team bounced back with a hard fought 4-0 win over Faith Christian. Our boys increased the intensity and went out and worked hard to control the game and keep the ball on the offensive half of the field for a large portion of the game.
Matt Davis put in the first goal of the game with an assist from Corban off of a throw in. Levi added the second goal with a nice left footed shot that bounced in over the goalie. In the second half, Corban was able to elevate for a nice header off of a great corner kick from Trey. Finally Levi added his second, and the team’s fourth goal of the game when he put in a goal off a pass from Bentley.
This team is fun to watch out on the field as they continue to learn and improve.

Carroll Christian
Loss1-5
Carroll Christian played a great game overall. They caught us off guard early and often with a lot of speed up front and scored some early goals. Going into halftime down 4-0, we could tell our team was a little bit deflated but I was really proud of the way they bounced back and played a tough second half. We limited Carol Christian’s scoring opportunities after the midpoint. Losses like this can be tough, but also provide a great learning opportunity and help us to see areas that we can work to improve. Really proud of the way the defense continued to fight hard throughout the game, and our team picked up the intensity after half time. We will work to start with more aggressiveness in each game.

Todays tournament was very beneficial for our A team middle school boys soccer team. There were several good teams present that challenged our players but fortunately, we were able to remain undefeated throughout the duration of the day. Our boys have been learning to play well with one another and proved this with consistent combination passes and finding the back of the net on several occasions. They all played great together, growing as a team, and the goals were shared by several different players with many players giving selfless assists. Our goal keepers today had a huge part in the teams success by allowing very few goals. There will always be room to grow but the progress we have seen thus far is very promising for an amazing developed future soccer program.

Win7 - 0
Shalom’s middle school team started off the season was a great team effort, seven different players scoring a goal. The team did an excellent job passing the ball around and keeping the defense on their toes while taking opportunities to attack when possible. Of the seven goals five of them were assisted. The defense played a solid game, keeping the ball up on the offenses, half majority of the game. After being up 2 - 0 at halftime our middle school boys continued to play hard and scored an additional five goals in the second half. It was great to see the entire team work together, each player, playing hard and doing well in whatever position they were asked to play.
