Summer Reading List
Mr. Garner

 

Students enrolled in 10th Grade English next year, may receive and apply extra credit to marking periods of their choice up to a maximum of 10 points per period or 40 points for the year.  To receive credit, read a selection option from the list below, write a paper summarizing the book (one and one half pages typed, double space, 12 font, Times New Roman), to include theme and applied Biblical principles, and attach a signed parental confirmation sheet verifying your work.  Due on the first day of school, each assignment below is worth 10 points.  You may, therefore, choose only four assignments for credit.  Do not turn in a reading completed prior to this summer.  It must be a reading on this list completed this summer. This is an optional activity, but it can greatly aid your grade for next year.

 
READING OPTIONS

 A. Read a book from a Christian author that is at least 150 pages.

 B. Read a book from Charles Dickens (not previously read & not  Tale of Two Cities).

 C. Read a book from John Steinbeck (except The Pearl).
